Interest in bio-based building materials is growing, and they feel it at EXIE, which makes lime hemp insulation. EXIE grows the hemp it needs from farmers, allowing them to surf along on the success, according to the manufacturer.

EXIE has been around for five years now, but people still occasionally frown when they learn that the company makes insulation based on hemp - and lime and mineral additives. However, the product has nothing to do with drugs. The hemp plants EXIE uses contain barely 0.3% thc, or tetrahydrocannabinol, the substance that can cause hallucinations. Hemp sold as drugs contains at least 15% thc. So they are in fact two completely different products.
